Mental Tools (mentaltools.cc) is a site of free articles about thinking, prioritization and habits. This page explains what information the site collects, why, who handles it, and what you can do about it.
The site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits. It records the page you viewed, the site that sent you, your country, and your browser, operating system and device type. It does not use cookies and does not identify you personally. Vercel, which also hosts the site, keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
If you click Accept in the cookie banner, the site loads Microsoft Clarity. Clarity records how you use pages, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and turns this into heatmaps and session recordings. We use it to find confusing pages and fix them. Clarity sets cookies to recognise your visits, and Microsoft processes this data under its own privacy statement.
If you click Decline, Clarity does not load. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
Creating an account is optional. If you sign up, we store your name, email address and a securely hashed password, plus basic session details such as your browser and IP address so you stay logged in. Accounts are managed by Appwrite Cloud, which stores this data on servers in the United States. We use your email address only to run your account, for example to send a password reset link.
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, or delete your account and its data. Email hello@mentaltools.cc and we will reply within 30 days. You can withdraw consent for Clarity at any time through Cookie settings, and clear cookies through your browser settings.
If the site starts collecting new information, for example through an email newsletter or purchases, this page will be updated before that happens, and the date at the top will change.
